As part of the restoration of the abbey church of Saint-Theudère, classified as a Historical Monument, several settlements have been observed.
The intervention had to deal with complex access, a building that is always frequented, and strong preservation constraints.
The Geotec Group conducted a comprehensive diagnosis combining geotechnical investigations, foundation studies, hydrogeological monitoring, and geophysical research.
To complement these analyses, the teams needed to monitor the deformations of the building over time as well as the variations in the water table, before, during, and after the remediation work.
This instrumentation provides objective data to the teams of the Geotec Group to guide the structural diagnosis and determine if reinforcements, underpinning, or soil strengthening are
necessary.
A fine example of collaboration between the geotechnical expertise of the Geotec Group and the connected monitoring solutions FEELBAT here in the service of heritage preservation.
Solution
Connected FEELBAT crack meters and inclinometers have been installed inside and outside the church, in addition to the piezometric probes deployed by the Geotec Group.
The device allows for remotely monitoring the movements of the structure for two years and centralising the measurements necessary for analysing its behaviour.
